Navigating Relationship Challenges

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy addresses the complex patterns that shape how partners relate to one another. While difficulties often present as communication problems, they are frequently rooted in deeper emotional and relational dynamics that can be harder to identify without support.

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on understanding the underlying factors that influence how each partner experiences closeness, conflict, and emotional regulation. This includes exploring how individual histories, attachment patterns, and habitual ways of coping contribute to recurring challenges within the relationship.

Many couples seek treatment when they find themselves caught in repetitive cycles—miscommunication, withdrawal, or escalating tension—that feel difficult to resolve. Therapy provides a structured space to examine these patterns more closely, develop greater awareness, and begin shifting toward more intentional and effective interactions, with less reactivity and volatility.

My role is to help each partner feel heard and understood, while maintaining a focus on the dynamics of the relationship as a whole. The work is structured to increase clarity around patterns of interaction, improve communication, and support more effective ways of engaging with one another.

I specialize in working with couples navigating high-conflict dynamics, emotional disconnection, and major life transitions, as well as persistent communication difficulties that can place strain on the relationship over time.
