Meet Dr. Leila Karam
Dr. Leila Karam is a psychotherapist with more than 20 years of experience as a licensed mental health counselor. She provides both individual and couples therapy, specializing in helping clients navigate depression, anxiety, and trauma. She serves clients in New York and Boston.

Dr. Karam has a particular passion for supporting women’s mental health across different stages of life. Her work includes postpartum and perinatal care, challenges related to peri- and post-menopause, and issues surrounding single motherhood, such as conception planning, adoption, and assisted reproductive technologies, including egg freezing. She also works extensively with couples, offering guidance on relationship concerns, co-parenting after divorce, and other relational challenges.

In addition, Dr. Karam is licensed in substance and alcohol addiction counseling. She collaborates with the Registry of Motor Vehicles to conduct evaluations for individuals seeking to reinstate their licenses following DUI offenses.
Dr. Karam possesses extensive experience in supervising fellow clinicians, teaching, program management, and counseling individuals facing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. Currently, she operates as a private practitioner, facilitating discussions that help clients navigate life challenges, recognize their true potential, and address long-standing behavioral patterns that may impede their ability to maintain happier relationships and more fulfilling lives.

​Dr. Karam earned her Doctorate in Psychology from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, where she also completed her master’s degree in mental health counseling. Additionally, she holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from Suffolk University. Dr. Karam has presented on mental health topics at various colleges in the Boston area and has served as a keynote speaker at numerous psychology conferences.
