Dr. Leila Karam

Meet Dr. Leila Karam

Dr. Leila Karam is a psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience as a licensed mental health counselor. Her expertise encompasses both individual and group therapy, focusing on clients dealing with depression,
anxiety, and trauma.


She is particularly passionate about addressing women’s issues, including postpartum and perinatal mental health, concerns related to peri- and post-menopause, and topics of single motherhood, including conception planning, adoption, and various forms of assisted reproductive technology, such as egg
freezing. She also provides guidance on relationship matters, such as couples therapy and co-parenting post-divorce.


In addition to her therapeutic work, Dr. Karam is licensed in substance and alcohol addiction counseling and collaborates with the Registry of Motor Vehicles, where she conducts evaluations for individuals aiming to reinstate their licenses following DUI offenses

Dr. Karam possesses extensive experience in supervising fellow clinicians, teaching, program management, and counseling individuals facing a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges. Currently, she operates as a private practitioner, facilitating discussions that help clients navigate life challenges, recognize their true potential, and address long-standing behavioral patterns that may impede their ability to maintain happier relationships and more fulfilling lives.

​Dr. Karam earned her Doctorate in Psychology from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, where she also completed her master’s degree in mental health counseling. Additionally, she holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from Suffolk University. Dr. Karam has presented on mental health topics at various colleges in the Boston area and has served as a keynote speaker at numerous psychology conferences.
